We may hold orders for up to seven days if out-of-stock items are expected within that time. Otherwise, all in-stock items are shipped immediately, and back-ordered items will be shipped separately by the least expensive shipping method when available. We usually ship back-ordered items within three weeks. You may cancel back-orders any time up to the shipment date.
Except for Economy Shipping, all shipping charges are actual weight-based carrier shipping charges. There are no extra fees and Home Science Tools does not charge for handling! The cost for each available shipping method will be provided after you enter your shipping address. Only shipping methods applicable to your order will be listed when you check out. (For example, if you are ordering UN-prefix chemicals or want your order sent to a P.O. box, unavailable shipping methods will be eliminated automatically.)

Occasionally we offer free shipping for a limited time as a customer appreciation sale. If you are signed up for our monthly promotional e-mails, you will receive any free shipping offers that we send out via e-mail.
Other than special offers, we do not offer free shipping. We have asked some of our customers about the value of free shipping compared to other services. The conclusion that we came up with is that people prefer lower product prices than paying higher prices with free shipping. We believe that our prices, with the shipping cost, are still lower than most suppliers. If we hear more responses in favor of offering free shipping instead, we will certainly consider again how to handle shipping costs.
Chemicals with the 'UN' prefix, such as 'UN-PHENOLS,' are designated hazardous by the US Department of Transportation. These items can only ship via Economy or Ground Service to a street address in the 50 United States.
