Amazing Solar System Kit
Explore the wonders of our solar system by building your own desk and hanging model set. The hanging model set has all nine planets and the seven largest moons; the desk model set has larger versions of the four inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars) and Earth's moon with display stands.
The kit contains materials to make and paint your models (larger planets use snap-together plastic, while smaller planets and moons are made with a modeling compound). Also included is a sun poster and a 64-page science book with information on each planet and more than 20 experiments to help you understand how the solar system works. The science book includes some old universe dating. Ages 8-14.

Annonymous reviewer with a different response I did this kit years ago with my oldest child, and loved it. Now I'm ordering another for my younger child, as we lost many parts. The desktop models we weren't as impressed with,
but the hanging model was worthwhile. Yes, it requires work. But once I finally forced myself to finish the project with my daughter, it really wasn't so bad, and it was worth it. It was an excellent way to give a good concept of size and distance in the solar system. As an adult, it still amazed me to see how very small the inner planets are compared to the outer, and how vast the distances are between planets and the sun (and other planets).

A lot of work Maybe my children were too young for this kit. I had to do almost all the work. The directions were not as eye-catching and easy to follow as I would have liked them to be. The kit gives you the option of making a "desk top set" of the inner planets or models of them all. After Mars, I was done. Months later I threw the rest of the kit out on a clean out day.
