Disc are easy to use and give a visual for students to understand how antibiotics work. To make them stick to agar, lightly tap the top of the disc. I use the wooden end of a cotton tipped applicator, but even a pencil, lead end, would work. Just make sure that what you use is smaller in diameter than the disc.

Discs are great. Perfect way to help understand bacterial classification and sensitivity.

Used these for a high school microbiology lab.
They worked fine. You will need to use forceps to manipulate them. Also, be warned that when you incubate your agar plates upside down, sometimes the disks fall off. I appreciate HST's providing equipment and reagents in the small quantities needed by homeschoolers, in contrast to bulk quantities used by traditional schools.

A great supplement to use with the Bacteria Study Kit. The students learned how antibiotics are effective in fighting growing bacterial colonies.

Great set. really helped my kids see how antibiotics work and why one antibiotic isn't the answer for every bacteria.
