Apologia Human Body Dissection Kit
Get a better understanding of anatomy with this kit that contains the specimens needed for the dissection labs in Apologia's The Human Body: Fearfully and Wonderfully Made advanced biology course. Includes a 10-13" double injected fetal pig, a sheep heart, and a cow eye. Order dissection tools and a dissection pan separately if you don't already have them. Our kit order form lists all of the items in this kit.Note: The sheep heart specimen in this kit is slightly smaller than the beef heart Apologia recommends (available from the butcher's), but it has the same structure and will work fine with the instructions in your book.
Specimens are initially preserved with a formaldehyde solution, the best animal tissue fixative. The formaldehyde is then displaced first with water and finally with a glycol solution to produce a moist, low-fume specimen which can be stored almost indefinitely. We recommend that you use specimens within one year of purchase to ensure the best tissue quality. Specimen discoloration over time is normal and does not indicate decay.
Store your specimens at normal room temperature--refrigeration is not required. Storage in attics or garages at high temperatures will damage the specimens. Once opened, specimens can be resealed in a Zip-lock bag to prevent them from drying out for later use.
