Perfect for Viewing InsectsReviewed By: Anonymous Entomologist in Training I'd just like to say that this is an awesome product.
I personally have not purchased/own it, but I've been raising Darkling beetles for years since I was in high school. Currently, I raise and breed them as pets.
This 'Barn' provides a great environment for them to grow and laze about. Just a warning, Darkling beetles can reproduce quickly in large amounts. A single mating pair last fall has spawned me 3 generations and over 300 eggs. Note, they also can mate more then once.
As you get more beetles and larve should you breed them, you might need more space.

Great Introduction to the life cycle of the Darkling BeetleReviewed By: Krystal Cluff We have enjoyed having this product! The Barn has provided an excellent home for keeping and viewing the Darkling Beetle larva.
This product is surprisingly sturdy. My children have dropped the pieces to the viewing room more than once and everything is still in tact and unbroken.
The Beetle Barn has been the perfect introduction to the scientific method and the life stages of an insect for my young class.
As a class we have made many hypothesis about the larva. We have tried to find out if they are more active in the day or night. We all have our own guess on how long the metamorphisis to Darkling Beetle will take.
I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to do an insect study. It is a very unique and fun way to introduce children to the life cycle of a Darkling Beetle.
