Excellent Resource

This is an excellent resource for anyone studying Marine Biology. The book is oversized which I love. There is plenty of information on each of the animals as well as a diagram on where to paint the bioluminescence for accuracy. Plenty of paint is provided and there are different colors to allow for imagination. The poster is beautiful and my son refers to it often. It really is a fun learning tool.

Not your average coloring book
 
We got this and really enjoy it. You can go as deeply into the topic as you want, because it's all very detailed, so you can really study and learn these animals, or you could just set your kids loose with it too. I think it's much more comparable to the high school level coloring books you see sometimes, but it's not hard to do. The book is HUGE, so it takes some creativity where to color it, maybe on the floor, or it can almost cover the kitchen table, so a few kids can work at a time. There are also a few suggestions for some science experiments you can do alongside this. It would make a very detailed unit study, or just plain fun if you choose.
