The project was very easy for even young children to do. The clear plastic cup was terrific for observation - we kept the cup near the table (out of direct sunlight) and checked them at each mealtime. Yet there was no mess for us b/c the larvae food is included and already in the clear plastic cup. It was easy to transfer the chrysalises to a netted cage, and it was delightful to see the very colorful Painted Lady Butterflies emerge. Everyone was excited! - Wednesday, January 14, 2009Great learning experience We order one of these every year and raise butterflies with our kids. It's a science experimetn that our kids look forward to, and learn something new from, every year. |
