Very nice aluminum container and wonderful insulator with 2 DC banana inputs for power. The ring lift is very handy and can raise a 2.1 or larger sample container up to the top at the plastic window top to observe.

Great Tool to unlock the Secrets of Heat Flow (aka Thermochemistry)

At some point in your life, you're gonna ask the question: How does heat flow in chemical reactions occur and how is it measured? This review deals with the second part of the question. To measure heat flow in a chemical reaction (solutions) you need a device called a Calorimeter and a thermometer. With Calorimeter, thermometer, and various calorimetry tutorials you can easily get from googling "calorimetry tutorials", you can start doing heat-flow (Enthalpy) experiments right at home. Imagine the FUN you'll be having as you explore the fascinating world of thermochemistry from the comfort of your own kitchen or bathroom! Learning how heat-flow behaves in reactions is essential in the learning process of how (and why) a chemical reaction takes place. Having this calorimeter was very helpful to me as I have done many reactions in it, measured the changes in temperature, and with the appropriate equations, calculated the delta H (change in enthalpy) of the reaction system. Doing many different reactions gave me a better understanding of how heat plays a major role in any chemical reaction. Having this calorimeter and thermometer will allow the budding chemist in your family the tools they need to learn this important aspect of chemistry. Calorimetry would be a good choice for a science fair project, as it is easily performed, and yet teaches very important facts regarding the nature of any chemical reaction.
