It's a good introductory microscope for preschool kids, with adult supervision. It also makes an excellent dissecting microscope for viewing specimens under magnification. 10” tall.

My son wanted a microscope for his sixth birthday and I was hesitant to get him one. I remembered the lousy ones we had as kids that you could hardly see anything through and when you did you couldn't tell if it was dust on the slide or the sample you wanted to see! I also imagined him trying to prepare a slide or use a fine focus and I just thought he was too young. This microscope is perfect for him! He and even my four-year-old can put almost anything they want under there and look at it and know what they're seeing! It's easy and fun and I'm sure we'll learn something too! Now they want me to save moldy bread!

I do the Junior Rangers program for Winchester Lake State Park. I use the Microscope in my junior rangers I can put microscope on picnic table and with the rotating head I rotate the head around and the kids can look into the microscope easly this way they love it. We have ben studying the stomatas on pine needles and see how the pine needles do the transpiration process. I did order a MI-EYE15x eyepiece for the scope am excited to try that. Thank You and we do enjoy our Microscope 20x soon to be 30x.
