This portable battery-powered model features the same quality glass optics and sturdy metal frame as our regular Kids Microscope,
but with a more versatile illumination system. The bright LED light is powered
by a rechargeable battery pack which means that it can be used without a cord,
making it a take-anywhere scope that's great for introducing kids to microscopy.
Use it in outdoor settings where AC power is not available or when it is
inconvenient to have a power cord in the way.
The efficient LED illuminator runs for about 12 hours continuously on the built-in battery, which is easily recharged with the AC adapter and built-in charging system.
A variable intensity control and 6-hole disc diaphragm provide just the right
illumination and contrast for each specimen and magnification level. The three
achromatic objective lenses and 10x widefield eyepiece provide total microscope magnification levels of 40, 100, and 400x.

Great value for the price. My 8 year old loves it and it is built such that I do not need to be looking over his shoulder. Very pleased!

Sturdy construction, great optics, easy operation. I've tried many and this one is the best low priced microscope bar none! And being cordless makes it fun for field trips, too.
