This complete natural science curriculum from Eagle's Wings is structured around the creation events in Genesis 1. Topics include Creation, The Universe, The Earth, Rocks and Minerals, Weather, The Plant Kingdom and Ecology, The Animal Kingdom, Animal Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Ecology, and Man. You can complete the 51 lessons in either one or two years by doing 1-2 lessons per week. The 112-page Teacher's Manual tells you step-by-step what to prepare, what to say, and what to do. It Includes activities, vocabulary, bible reading and more. The 269-page Student Workbook has many creative application activities including games, model cutouts, classification sheets, and hundreds of pictures. Workbook pages are reproducible. Includes a CD with songs. No additional materials needed. Good for multi-age teaching. Grades 1-6.
If you are looking for a strong science program that includes experimentation, lots of vocabulary, etc. This is not the program for you. There are some experiments with testing rocks and observation of clouds, etc. but not the get down in the trenches and formulate hypotheses, etc.kind of work say BJU requires. HOWEVER, if you are looking for an interesting, fun approach to get your elementary school children to learn to love science then do BUY THIS BOOK! Plan to use it over several years skipping around as you find appropriate for your children's abilities and what your family is interested in studying at the time. I strongly recommend using the book in conjunction with lots of library books, field trips and even other basic science programs. One thing my kids did not enjoy were the songs. With the cost of Considering God's Creation being so reasonable for a multi-year course, treat yourself and your kids to Lyrical Life Science and Lyrical Earth Science CD's. Music is a great tool for learning all the terms and concepts of science.
Considering God's Creation

This set is an amazing value. I am using it for my 6 and 9 year old home-schooled children. I love it because it does not require large amounts of planning and grading time but still allows my children to do hands-on projects so that they really understand the concepts. Even my Kindergartner is understanding the basics in each section. I am getting more science done in less time than before and the children are remembering more of the basic concepts.
We LOVE it!

This was one of those unique curriculums that worked for Everyone! We used it for our older children (then grades 5,6,7) when we needed something to do before Apologia and he recommended this. Now our younger 3 (ages 4,5,8) will have it this year. We also pulled out the leaf, bird, tree, and science detective sheets and used them for badge pursuits at church. They are so good to allow the children to learn a lot without overwhelming them with too much stuff at once. we love their God-centered approach to everything. So sweet!
Plan on using this one again w/ my younger kids!

I used this several years ago when my now graduated kids were 6th, 7th and 9th graders. I liked it so much, we used some of the songs for creation week at our Bible School (with permission) I've already purchased it again to use w/ our younger kids! The songs make learning science so easy! and I still have their notebooks on my Science Shelf to refer to!
