The slides are unscratched and arrived in a nice protective box. I liked that this kit contains the letter "e" slide so he can easily familiarize himself with the stage movement, and it also includes a good variety of basic slides (both organic and non-organic) that nicely complement our biology studies this year. I am finding that the slide set is also valuable for some high schoolers that I teach who have never used a microscope before. I also purchased the slide-making kit; these two kits together are a valuable starter set for any new microscope users. - Tuesday, August 12, 2008 What a great little starter setReviewed By: Maranda The kids beg me to let them look at these. I love listening to their running commentary on what they are seeing. What a great way to introduce them to the world of microscopes and being able to see things up close and personal. I can't wait to start making more slides with the other sets we purchased.
