High form porcelain crucible for high temperature use. Evaporating dishes and crucibles should be set on a clay triangle for insulation while being heated. Metal will pull heat away from the dish and cause the material to heat less quickly. Heating or cooling on a metal surface may also cause these dishes to crack.
