Good for the Money Review by
When I saw this product, I was truly concerned about the sturdiness and quality of the product. However, after a month of rigorous use, I find it to be a great addition to our Physical Science classroom. The students have enjoyed using it in all sorts of experiments.
I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for an inexpensive, but sturdy balance.
great balance for physics Review by
This is a great demonstration balance for demonstrating forces and eqilibrium in physics. It wouldn't be my first choice as a simple balance for young kids, however. For physics, I use hanging masses and I've bought some additional knife lever edge clamps for this balance. I alss sometimes swap the 1/2 meterstick for a full meterstick.
Covers several ages! Review by
This balance works great for my first grader and my seventh grader. We don't have a lot of space, so it helps to have products that work for everyone. We use the balance in math and science!
Could use a few missing items Review by
This is just an ok product. It could be improved if it had hooks on the ends of the arms rather than circular hangers. Also it would be a better value if it came with the small set of weights that you have to purchase separately. Still, it beats having to make your own!
A lot of fun Review by
I got this for my kids, who have always enjoyed using it, but the best use we got out of it was for the HS group, where I showed the kids the correlation between distances and weights, and then told the kids how they could lift their dads on a teeter-totter. They liked that thought. The only downside is that the five pieces come apart, and that means my younger children keep getting into them and scattering the pieces, and they only work together.
