This classroom kit allows up to 30 students to complete a forensic science investigation by testing four different substances and analyze the results. All necessary materials needed are included. The instruction sheet provides background information for the teacher while 30 student sheets have instructions and room for each student to write results.

This drug test kit uses three different chemicals mixed together to create a drug test for Ferric thiocyanate. When in the presence of Ferric thiocyanate the indicator will turn bright red. These tests simulate an actual drug test done for cyanide. Each of the four testing solutions are simulated to be similar to household drugs: cough syrup, sleep aid, mouthwash, and cold medicine.

Drug analysis is used in sports, police investigations, and by environmental scientists to test for herbicides and pesticides. Scientists who use chemistry to find evidence are called forensic analysts. Forensic analysis is an increasingly important field with many applications. Ages 14 & up.
