Porcelain dish with 80 mm diameter for high heat applications. Evaporating dishes and crucibles should be set on a clay triangle for insulation while being heated. Metal will pull heat away from the dish and cause the material to heat less quickly. Heating or cooling on a metal surface may also cause these dishes to crack.

Useful, but great price

This evaporating dish is useful to me to make the molds. I fill the dish with sand to make the mold, the dish handles the high temperature of the molten pennies(which are mostly zinc) quite well. Out of the several times I've used it for casting, it has not cracked.
