Excellent bookReviewed By: Suzanne Mallery Like all Exploratorium books, this is an excellent addition to a science library. The book consists of a large number of simple experiments and demonstrations to do at home, using materials that are readily available. It covers a wide range of topics. The format of the book is very attractive, with lots of pictures and a nice layout, so it draws kids in to try things out. This book is the successor (and upgrade) to the Exploratorium science snack series. It reprints many of the best science snacks from the old books plus some new ones. Many of the Exploratorium's old "snacks" are available free online, but almost all of the content of this book is different from the free content. The illustrations and instructions and interesting facts in this book also make it much more accessible than the original "snacks." This is highly recommended, even for families who only want to purchase a few hands-on books.
