Our whole family enjoyed it!Reviewed By: Kerri Time and again while reading through this book I had to stop and re-read parts of it to my husband -- it was just so interesting! Our kindergarten and second grade sons loved it (especially the chapters on bats and on insects) and were always excited to "do science." I especially appreciate that there are projects geared toward both younger and older learners, making this book suitable for such a wide age range. Even our youngest family members were able join in on some of the activities.

IncredibleReviewed By: Gwen Kowalski Thank you !! I can not say enough wonderful things about Apologia's Zoology 1. My daughter was hooked from the first page. We had such fun reading, learning, and doing the experiments. The experiments even became an event to share with friends. ha ha Thank you for bringing the fun into science.

My fouth grader is learning so much! He is finally sharing what he is learning with others because it is so fun. Even my 4 year old is gleaning a lot of information and astounding relatives. The Christian aspect of these books makes them a true gift from God. Not only do I not have to edit out what we don't believe; but we are learning more about what we do believe! What a blessing!

- Thursday, January 04, 2007 Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day My son is 8 and really enjoys science. The other curriculums that we looked at for his "grade" are very simplistic. He became bored very quickly.
We read the chapters out loud and talk about the ideas. He is able to explain what he is learning in his own words. He is understanding ideas and definitions of words that I never knew until high school!
While the chapters are written in a "conversation" type style, they do not "talk down" to the student. They are also interesting enough that my daughters (3 and 5) also enjoy listening.
I appreciate that the book also has a website for more information about what we are learning.
