This kit is perhaps the best static electricity science kit ever! It is built around the FunFlyStick, a unique miniature Van de Graaff generator that generates static electricity.

Your kids will learn about electrons, insulators, conductors and much more as they do the 75 experiments, like powering a small neon lamp, making an electrostatic motor, making a Leyden jar, working with an electroscope, and creating electrostatic wind.

But by far our favorite experiments are with the FunFlyStick mini Van de Graaff generator, with a clear handle so you can see it work and see its glowing discharge corona. With it you can make flying saucers, make a variety of shapes levitate, and even make water bend!

The detailed, 22-page static electricity Experiment Guide provides an introduction to static electricity, overview of multiple atomic models (solar system and electron cloud theories), information about insulators and conductors, triboelectric charge, and an explanation of Van de Graaff generators covering electrostatic induction, polarization, and corona discharge.

The best part is this kit is so much fun it is hard to stop learning! You provide two AA batteries and some household items. The box says ages 14+, but slightly younger kids will enjoy it as well. Ages 12 & up.
