Wonderful! It was easy to use, not expensive and very full. It could have had some pipe cleaners and beads but other than that, it was superb and appropriate for my little scienctist's needs. :)

Perfect for my budget!

I researched several vendors, and chose to buy from Home Science Tools because their kit offered the "hard to find items" for a price that was $50 less than other vendors who included items that I already had, or could easily obtain on an average grocery trip. Important note, I did receive a DNA kit with pipecleaners, beads, and instructions within my kit, so they are no longer lacking, as previous reviews mention. My kit was shipped quickly, and our daughter oohed and aaahed over all the fun items! We are both looking forward to starting the curriculum!

This review is early as we have not actually used the kit yet. However, it looks good except for NO PIPE CLEANERS. I do believe it will end up saving me a lot of running around trying to get all the items. I will update my review if I find it to be a waste of money.

So I came online to check to see what was included in the kit. To my surprise, NO PIPE CLEANERS ARE INCLUDED. This makes no sense to me and I'm very disappointed.  -  Monday, April 13, 2009 Wow!   This kit is great. I have searched for some of these items individually in the past and spent so much time and gas running to place after place! I will just order from HST from now on. (I just have to plan ahead), but they are SO quick, I don't have to wait long for my order. Thanks  -  Tuesday, February 10, 2009 Not quite perfect Reviewed By: Kathryn Rayburn  I do appreciate having the items that come with the kit but I was disappointed today when we went to do our next experiment and found no pipe cleaners or beads in the kit. Pipe cleaners may be standard fare for some but they aren't for us. A list of what is not included would be helpful so the user could purchase everything that didn't come in the kit in one trip without digging through the book to find what is needed. Maybe there is a list in the book and I can check off what came in this kit and go buy the rest.  -  Wednesday, August 20, 2008 Excellent! I had ordered A Beka kits previously for my children and was happy with them and I am with this kit also. It is nice not to have to shop at many different stores to find all the items. This kit solved that problem. It comes with all the small items you need to perform your experiments. The convenience of having it all right there is wonderful. It's so convenient to not have to search around for items as this kit is so complete. We only needed to supplement with a few common household items. My children's science experiences were delayed and sometimes lacking. I had to take time and gas money to go grab this and that from different sources-so I didn't save money at all! They don't include everything you need, but all the items that most people would not have around the house. Also, this kit will likely have enough supplies for my son who will use the curriculum in a few years.  -  Thursday, January 04, 2007 Loved IT!   I didn't use this kit with my oldest child but I did with my youngest and boy did it make life simpler. No running to the store to buy something I didn't have at home because it was in the kit. No telling my child we couldn't do an experiment because I didn't have the money that day to go buy what I didn't have at home because it was already there in the kit. I'll continue to use these kits each year. They are wonderful.  -  Monday, October 09, 2006 Worth Every Penny   The kit had everything we have needed except for a few items. It has made my life easier not having to shop around at different stores to find the products. It is all in the kit except for a few items you have around the house like cabbage. The experiments are GREAT!!! Even my 9 yr. likes to participate with them. Excellent buy!!  -  Sunday, September 10, 2006 Makes life easier!   The science kit goes along with the Apologia curriculum and makes it so easy to do the experiments. Not everything is included, obviously they can't send you cabbage leaves, but the things that aren't included are normal household items or readily available. I ordered 2 because my 7th and 9th grader are sharing the curriculum, but I probably could have gotten away with one kit. I'm sure we will have materials left over, but all the more fun!
