Get your class excited about science with this set of 30 clear, unbreakable giant test tubes! Use these giant tubes to mix, shake, set off reactions, grow things in, or as observation chambers. They are great for making science experiments fun for all ages. They function as a test tube, beaker, or storage bottle. They are great for younger students because they are easy to hold, and have large threaded caps that are easy to put on or take off. The bottle can also be tipped upside down, so the cap becomes a base.
The size and sturdiness of these tubes makes them a perfect addition for your elementary classroom! At our low prices, every student will be able to experience science in a hands-on way. They are also great for families who homeschool, or who are making a science fair project. We include a free activity guide for doing a variety of fun science experiments at home or in the classroom.
These baby soda bottle test tubes can be used with our 5-hole plastic test tube rack.
Why are they called baby soda bottles?
These test tubes are actually the blanks or preforms used to make soda and water bottles. The preforms are typically injection-molded from the raw plastic pellets at a plastic products manufacturer and then shipped to large soda and water bottling plants. The bottling plant uses a blow molding machine to heat the preform and "blow" it into the shape of the finished bottle using compressed air. The finished bottle is then leak tested, filled with soda or water and capped. Shipping preforms instead of the finished soda bottles significantly reduces shipping expenses for the bottling plant. Our "baby soda bottle test tubes" are the kind of preforms used to make 1- to 2-liter soda and water bottles. They are made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a safe plastic used for beverage containers. The caps are specially designed to contain the pressure build up common to carbonated soda drinks.
