Grow-a-Frog Kit

Item# LM-GROFROG

The popular Grow-a-Frog kit is an excellent way to learn about frog metamorphosis!

This kit provides everything you need to watch a tadpole grow into a baby froglet. Just send in the pre-paid postcard that comes with your kit and in a few weeks (depending on weather) you will receive a live see-through tadpole and a 6x6" clear habitat. Over the next 4-8 weeks, your tadpole will grow legs and lose its tail as it becomes a frog.

The Grow-a-Frog instruction booklet contains a code, or "Tad Tag", to redeem your tadpole and habitat at no additional cost. The Grow-a-Frog kit includes a Fun & Fact Handbook for learning about raising your tadpole, and food. Tadpole and habitat are sent separately.  Not only will your kids get to watch the amazing process of metamorphosis, they will also learn to be responsible as they care for a living animal.

This frog lives its life entirely in water. Tadpoles of this species have transparent skin so you can see through its body and even watch its heart beat! Tadpoles have both gills and lungs so they can breathe in water or at the surface. Frogs have only lungs and must come to the surface to breathe.

These frogs are known to live for several years. The small habitat that comes with your Grow-a-Frog is suitable once the tadpole becomes a young adult frog. Still, at the adult stage; however, you might consider one of our Critter Habitats to provide a larger, more comfortable home for your frog.

Development time: Metamorphosis from tadpole to young frog can take 4-8 weeks. Factors such as tadpole age upon arrival and water temperature, food, and other habitat conditions can affect their growth rate.

Lifetime Guarantee: Three Rivers, the manufacturer of this product has an incredible guarantee! First, they guarantee your Grow-a-Frog tadpole will arrive healthy and that it will undergo metamorphosis or they will replace it absolutely free. Once your frog completes metamorphosis they offer a unique lifetime guarantee—to ensure your total satisfaction they will send a free replacement froglet at any time for just $6.95 to cover shipping and handling. Christmas gift Review by
I just got this for my niece who loves frogs, going to be surprising her with this for Christmas. I am looking forward to seeing the joy in her face when she opens this. I'll add a follow up review when she receives the tadpole. Thank you for having this on your site!
great product Review by
Such a great way to get a close-up look at the life cycle of a frog. Easy to care for and so cute, the kids named him morph! Great introduction to the responsibilities of caring for a pet also. Very cool!
