Great Microscope

I really wanted to purchase a new microscope for our homeschool coop last year but we just didn't have the funds. When I saw the sale this past month I had to go on and splurge and wow I am so glad I did! We have one good microscope a local vet had donated but this one is even better. I had class yesterday (Biology and Human Body) and the "Wows" made the purchase worth while. I know the kids will be wanting to look at whatever we are studying that week "under the microscope" (if we can!) each and every week. (And I suspect I'll be sharing with the younger co-op classes but only after I instruct on care of the microscope.)

Excellent Choice - Well worth the price
 
Its hard to decide which product to get when you want the best but are on limited budget. This one is it. The mechanical stage is wonderful, and allows you to precisely focus in on a targeted portion of the slide. The 1000x magnification puts it above and beyond the lesser microscopes. Its hard to dole out hundreds of dollars for a product of which you are unsure. I have absolutely no regrets and am very happy with this choice.

Great microscope
 
I was unsure of what type of microscope we needed. The site was very helpful in choosing one. After receiving this one all of us had an interest in using it! It is great and easy to use. It is also very well made and comparable to the scopes I used in college. I definitely recommend it.

Excellent quality

The quality of this microscope is comparable to that of the microscopes I used as an undergraduate microbiology major at a well-known American university. I was very pleasantly surprised to buy this at such an affordable price. Unlike most "play" microscopes, this scope allows kids to work with ordinary prepared slides from any biological supply house or make their own slides, so the range of slides available is very broad. I knew we wanted the mechanical stage (makes navigating on a slide MUCH easier), so the slightly higher cost compared to the next lower model was well worth it, for the addition of both 1000x and the mechanical stage. The cool light is also essential for viewing live specimens such as those taken from a pond (the university scopes I used in the past didn't have a cool light, and I remember having to work fast or risk cooking live specimens). We added the 1.3 megapixel camera, which allows multiple users to see things at once on a computer and also lets us project what we're seeing onto a classroom data projector. The kids are absolutely amazed. Very happy.

The magnification levels are great, and the optical lenses are pure quality. We put something large on the slide and accidentally broke the slide. I thought the lense would have been scratched, but that is when I noticed the lense was well-protected by the casing it is in. Great quality microscope.
