- 10x wide-field inclined eyepiece with 18mm exit pupil distance
- 4x (0.10 NA), 10x (0.25 NA), and 40xR (0.65 NA) objectives meet DIN standards and are achromatic, parcentered and parfocaled to prevent color distortion and keep the slide in coarse focus as you switch to higher or lower power

This is a great microscope we have had it for only a few weeks but have a great time working with it daily. I have an 8th grader and a 12th grader and both have been working with it as well as myself and we couldn't be more pleased. I check out lots of places and you cannot get a microscope of this quality or price anywhere else. great buy.

I was very happy to feel how sturdy this microscope was when it arrived. We are homeschooling four children and the first one is going to use the microscope this year and then it needs to last through the other three and it definitely seems heavy duty enought to hold up. The home microscope was ordered for homeschool use. We were pleasantly surprised. I expected a good microscope but it turned out to be great! It is wonderful quality and really easy to use. You definetly get more for your money. I recommend it to anyone looking to buy a microscope whether it be for school or fun.

Excellent Quality
I work in a medical lab and use a microscope daily at work. I was stunned to see the high quality in this one I bought for my son to use in his homeschool. The objectives are the same ones we use at work. My son wasn't that keen on using it at first, but we looked at some of the starter slides and now he keeps wanting to go back and do more.

Amazing Quality

Excellent quality microscope. We have had to buy a microscope every year due to the cheap ones breaking constantly. This time I went ahead and spent the extra money for a nice one and it is built much better. This microscope is much more durable, the light is much brighter which presents a clearer picture and magnification is better. It also is not made of the cheap plastic you get with the others. I am very satisfied with my purchase. This was definitely worth every penny.

After searching for microscopes and reading reviews, we ordered the Home Microscope and we were extremely surprised once it arrived. The microscope is very well built and has exceeded our expectations. We have six students in the house that will be using this microscope and we feel confident that it will stand the test of time with each one of them being able to use it. Disappointment but Good Recovery

The disappointment came when my daughter opened the gift on Christmas morning only to find that the eyepiece was disconnected (broken) from the microscope. The rivots that connect the eyepiece never got attached to the scope; it should have been checked before it was shipped. Needless to say, big disappointment the morning of Christmas.
The only decent part of the story was they sent me a new microscope immediately (even though it was sent by ground and I didn't receive it for another week).
The new scope is great but the event certainly reduced the enthusiasm and excitement of receiving a new scope for Christmas ... that can't be replaced.

Great investment

This is a great investment. My kids and I have been frusterated with cheap microscopes in the past. This one is of good quality and we're able to see our slides in great detail. worthy investment

Perfect for Young Scientists!

I am so excited about this product! I am a teacher who homeschools in South Korea. We've never "bitten the bullet" and bought a good microscope, instead chosing lesser models with predictable results. Now that my kids are in middle school, I thought it was time to invest in a quality instrument. What a fabulous choice! This microscope does everything you need it to. It is extremely sturdy and is a better quality than I have had in classrooms. Not only will I take this one back to the classroom when it is time, I will also buy one for my nieces and nephews!
It comes extremely well packaged in form fitting styrofoam inside a cardbaord box, and is perfect for those who move frequently. It also has the sturdy plastic sleeve to cover and protect it. I want to also mention how incredibly quickly it was shipped! With an APO it is sometimes unpredictable, but HST got this item to us in record time! Have no doubts about buying this product for your basic homeschooling or classroom needs. It also makes a great Christmas or birthday gift for your young scientist!

I remember using my dad's microscope when I was a kid and loving it. I wanted to give that same experience to my kids, but I didn't want to waste our time with the cheap toy store versions you often see.
This is the microscope I was looking for! It's made of solid/heavy metal and has all of the parts that I expect on a microsocpe. I am very glad I bought it, and my kids are glad too.
My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a case. I wish it had a wood (or even heavy plastic) case.

I just received this microscope and absolutely LOVE it! I was surprised by the sturdy/heavy duty construction. With the free starter kit that you can add to your order, I was able to examine slides the same evening.
The microscope's eyepiece was not attached - luckily my roommate had the right wrench to adjust the screws to mount the eyepiece.

Better Than Video Games!!!!!
Love this microscope! We are not a home-schooled family but this is already feeding my 12 year old daughter's fascination for science. As good, if not better, than the one at school according to her science teacher who assisted me in choosing the right microscope for this past Christmas. I have already donated blood and cheek cell tissue for her to study and am amazed at the detail we can see! Very easy to use also. We also purchased the hard case to store it safely.

Home Microscope review
We ordered this microscope for our home school, and it has exceeded our expectations. The light is cool and provides smooth, flicker-free viewing. The swivel eyepiece allows us each to view the specimen without having to move around. This piece of equipment is sturdy and should be around for many years.
