Working with chemistry, laboratory equipment, and chemicals can be dangerous; protect yourself with the appropriate protective gear. Always
work, explore, and think safely.
Working and exploring in the field of science often includes working with and handling chemicals. Use tools and best practices to measure
and handle chemicals appropriately; and always remember to use the necessary safety gear.
Many laboratory experiments require a heat source. An industry standard heat source is typically a Bunsen burner or other butane/natural
gas source burner, such as our Portable Micro Lab Burner. Alcohol lamps are effective and
economical, but do not work as efficiently and the flame temperature is significantly lower than a burner's output.
Many laboratory procedures and experiments require additional support for efficient and safe work flows. Use ring stands and ring stand equipment to attach,
support, clamp, and fasten various tools and support accessories for experiments and procedures.
Glassware like beakers, flasks, graduated cylinders, and test tubes are staples in lab work and science experiments.
High-quality glassware allows you to mix chemicals, make solutions, heat liquids, stir, store, shake, observe, and measure reactions in various procedures and
applications. High-quality glassware is made of borosilicate glass and will endure thermal stress and thermodynamics.
Balances and scales are used to weigh measurements. A digital scale provides 0.1 to 0.01 g sensitivity, while triple beam balances
usually provide 0.1 g sensitivity. Professional digital balances provide
0.001 g sensitivity for high-precision education and professional laboratory applications.
A pipette (pipet) is a laboratory tool used to transfer a precise amount of liquid in various scientific applications; they have a range of differing
levels of precision. Burette (buret) is a piece of glassware with volumetric graduation for dispensing precise amount of liquids in experiments and titrations.
Attach a burette to a stand using the burette clamp.
Distillation is a method of separating mixtures. Distillation is used far and wide in both industrial applications and science laboratory work. Vacuum filtration allows a faster separation of suspensions and mixtures. Separatory funnels are used to separate two
immiscible liquids of different densities. They may also be used to add a reagent in a distillation or a reaction process. Safety: Inspect all glassware for cracks or chips, which could cause implosions when
used during distillation and vacuum filtration. Wrap glassware in tape to help prevent injury during the event of implosion.
Use hardened rubber stoppers to seal a flask, test tube, or other glassware equipment. Rubber stoppers are also available with one or more
holes to insert a funnel or glass tubing, which can then be connected to another piece of apparatus. Glass and rubber tubing connects to stoppers,
condensers, water supply, glassware, and other lab apparatus for laboratory experiments and applications. Safety: Use caution when insterting glass tubing or thermometers into rubber stoppers.
Check all glass tubing for chips or cracks and that the ends are smoothly fire-polished. Use thick work gloves and a small amount of lubricant (water,
silicone grease, vegatable oil) and insert the glass tubing using a gentle twisting motion. Never use too much force as it may result in serious injury.
Laboratory microscopes are ideal for advanced high school, college, university, medical, clinical, and veterinary applications. What separates
laboratory microscopes from traditional compound microscopes is higher-quality optics, larger eyepieces, semi-plan or plan objectives, 1000x magnification,
extra-bright lighting, binocular or trinocular heads, and greater mechanical reliability.
High-power compound microscopes are perfect for students to perform all the necessary scientific study and observational work typical of high school science. Whether you’re a hobbyist, a teacher, or a student, using a high-quality, dependable compound microscope provides peace of mind.
We create, supply, and distribute a choice selection of chemistry equipment and lab tools for various applications and level of scientific interest.
Finding the chemistry supplies and laboratory equipment you need is convenient and easy since we offer it all in one place, and, with preassembled science kits, sometimes all in one box!
