I received this quickly in the mail. I was very pleased with the book. It is very informative for someone new to the world of microscopes. I found the supplies adequate to get us started with putting the slides together. My children are really enjoying this kit and I anticipate great use from it. Thanks so much.

What a wonderful kit

We have enjoyed going through the book and looking at it thus far. I agree that a magnifying glass would be great, but we already have those anyways...it would just be nice for those looking to purchase the kit and get started right away. I'm glad for the cleaning supplies as I'd forgotten to purchase these with my microscope! My kids can't wait to get started making slides!

This is one of the items that you should first buy. great price and it has a lot to get you up and running. For home school, school or just a for a hobby in my case. Just reading the book will get you up and running and understanding in no time and all. The cover slides are small and brake easily also a note I found that sometimes I was using two cover slides not one. So take your time making your slides and give your self plenty of time to read, learn, and do.

-  Tuesday, January 22, 2008 Essential Addition to Any Microscope Purchase   Recently we purchased the Advanced Microscope, and while I'm certain that alone would have sufficed for our science needs, this accessory kit adds so much more to our labs. With it, I don't need to rely on my sketchy memory of using microscopes in high school, and my daughter can create her own slides, use her equipment, etc. without needing any assistance (which she's going to have to do in four years anyway). This kit has really made her self-sufficient with her microscope use, and I'm so glad we spent a little extra to get it. We like that the chemicals are packaged separately. The extra slides, cover slips, lens paper & cleaner, and more are so handy to have all in one set. The book - "The World of The Microscope" that comes with this set is so informative. Williams  I purchased a microscope the year before and found we just weren't using it nearly as much as I hoped we would. So, the following year I purchased this kit with the plan to do a microscope unit to really get to know our microscope and the microscopic world around us. The book included in this kit is great, but all the materials (like two magnifying glasses) needed for the suggested activities weren't included in the kit. My kids were disappointed that we had to skip some of these activities for this reason. Overall we enjoyed this unit and made good use of the kit. We all learned quite a bit about microscopes and the microscopic world.
