You'll be delighted with the images and video you get from your microscope with this superb 3.0 megapixel digital camera eyepiece! It produces excellent-clarity images with very good contrast and color. The lightweight camera replaces the eyepiece of your standard compound or stereo microscope. Just plug the camera into a USB port on your computer, load the software, and you're all set for microphotography. This higher resolution, lower Lux camera provides greater resolution, especially with a 100x objective.

The digital camera produces 2048 x 1536 pixel still images and video at up to 30 frames per second depending on resolution and computer performance. It includes two eyepiece adapters, a USB cable, and ScopePhoto software to view, capture, edit, record, measure, zoom, file, and manage still or moving microscope images. This is a great tool for documenting the details you see with your microscope. See specifications below for minimum PC computer requirements. (Incompatible with Macs.) Home Science Tools one-year warranty. Ages 13 & up.

Excellent camera produces great pictures
Reviewed By: KlondikeGeoff
I have been using a 1.3 megapixel camera with a biological microscope for a few years and have hundreds of slides of specimens. Most seemed pretty good, but when I got this great 3.0 MP camera, I was astonished at how much better the quality of pictures were. Extremely sharp, excellent color and easy to use the camera. I just find the area to photograph, remove the eyepiece, insert the camera and view the specimen on the screen. One can go to full screen image, and then back again by hitting the ESC key, which is cool. My only complaint is there is no decent user guide with the package, either on the CD or online, and the Help files are not much use at all. Otherwise, i would have given this an unqualified five-star rating.

great pictures!

Great little camera! Software installation directions are easy to follow and setup only takes a few minutes. Camera fits great in the eyepiece of our Leica StereoZoom scopes and just plugs into the computer via USB. With the right lighting setup this camera takes very clear pictures with a very high level of detail. Too much light from one source can wash out the picture. If you need to view things with this camera at 20x magnification or higher with only the only light source coming from above, think about investing in multiple lights. this should allow you to view things better using lower lights levels to prevent washing out the picture while reducing shadows at the same time. Great camera though - we've all been impressed with the functionality so far and are very pleased with our purchase. I would recommend this camera to anyone that needs to capture images with a level of detail from their microscopes.
