Very easy to use and set up. We use it with the Home 1000X oil-immersion microscope also purchased from this site. The microscope picture on the computer screen is a bit grainy and not as colorful as what is seen under the actual microscope, but it is extremely useful for elementary science students who are using a microscope for the first time. I like being able to show the slide on the computer screen in order to point out details to my young scientists. We all enjoy the picture-taking ability and have saved many photos of our favorite microscope slides! In short, this is a great deal for the price and I'd definitely recommend it, unless you need high-quality resolution and photos of your slides for presentations. - Tuesday, September 23, 2008 Had to return...could not get it to work with our scopeReviewed By: Cristy We are having to return this product. It is not as universal as I hoped. I have a Boreal student Skope and this attachment did not fit. Apparently my eyepiece tube is not quite standard, yet so close that when I measured prior to ordering I thought it was the right size. So I borrowed a friend's (nicer) scope and after a distraught half hour searching the carpet for the world's smallest screw which I dropped after removing the eyepiece, I discovered that I could not focus in on my slide. The attachment had changed the focal length. After reading the manual I discovered I might have to adjust the stage height as well. I could not open the "help" on the software because it informed me it was not compatible with Vista. I decided there would be no more surgery on the scope and am packaging this product up to return.
I think it is a wonderful concept and it was easy to set up the software. Once I got it attached to the scope I got a (unfocused) picture right off the bat, however it was not the "plug in and go" I was expecting and I would rather just buy a digital scope than have to keep operating on scopes to make this work.
 - Wednesday, September 06, 2006 Great Camera! As a picture is worth a 1,000 words, I purchased this camera for my company. We manufacture printed circuit boards and in the past, had to rely on words to describe various characteristics of our product. Our quality manager asked me to find a camera that would work with our stereo microscope in the inspection department. A quick internet search turned up this camera. It was quick and easy to install, along with the software. On the first try we captured a picture – there was no learning curve.
Now we will be able to show our customers the photos along with descriptions. We will also use the photos in future training manuals for new inspectors and other employees. This camera will be a great training tool that will be utilized years to come and I can recommend it without reservation.
