Small DC Motor, 0.5-6 volt

This small DC motor runs off any battery or solar cell ranging from 0.5-volts to 6-volts and it is our best all-purpose motor. It is ideal for experimenting with direct current (DC) electricity or creating motorized projects of your own design. It can also be used as a small DC generator.

This small DC motor rotates at about 1800 rpm at 2.0 volts. It is smaller and faster than our low speed DC motor. Be sure to order a plastic propeller with this small DC motor so you can watch the motor turn as you experiment.

Excellent motors Review by
We use these little motors for a variety of science projects. They are very reliable, durable and perform for long periods without fail.
Great motor for group STEM activities Review by
We bought these motors for our STEAMing It in the Park program steamingit.weebly.com as part of our special give away this summer. It is working well with this solar panel from Pitsco education .45v 400ma with alligator clips (much easier in the park where we don't have soldering irons.) The youth create solar spinning art with paper and markers, funky spinning characters with corks and pipecleaners, spinning magnet games, and spinning pom pom toss. This motor works welll because it sits close to the surface so we don't even need to create a stand for it to keep it steady. A fun way learn about motors.
Perfect Review by
I oredered a lot of these and connected them to a solar cell with alligator clip leads. They worked very well and the children found it easy to connect them with the clips. Those motor require very little energy to work so that we could make them spin even indoor with the light of a torch or even outdoor in the shade. The children loved to cover a part of the solar cell and see that the motor worked even with a only a quarter of the solar cell visible. Sometimes, we needed to give the motor a start by touching the fan (that I ordered separately). I will surely buy more of these in the future.

Motor Review by
I ordered a bunch of these for student electric circuit set-ups for a school science workshop. The motors worked well with a regular battery (1.5V). I should have ordered one for each set-up as the kids (1st and 2nd grade) liked the motors and propellers a lot. Highly recommended.
