Nature Backpack Kit Wins NAPPA Toy Award
Educational Nature Backpack Kit for Kids Wins NAPPA Toy Award
Billings, Mont. - October 19, 2007 - Hands-on nature exploration in the backyard
and beyond is accessible with the Young Naturalist's Backpack Kit, a Gold Award
winner in the 2007 National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) competition.
This honor recognizes the backpack kit, which includes tools that children ages
eight and up can use to get out and discover nature, as a standout among this
year's toys. It is available from Home Science Tools, an online retailer focused
on making science fun as well as educational.
Now in its 17th year, NAPPA is a well-known source of gift ideas for anyone
interested in high-quality toys that develop a child's knowledge, imagination
and skills. Full NAPPA results will be announced Nov. 1, 2007, in 40 parenting
magazines across the country and online at Parenthood.com.
€œNAPPA-winning products meet the most stringent criteria and are judged by
nationally recognized industry experts, educators, reviewers and advocates in
their fields,'' explains NAPPA Manager Barbara Smith Decker. €œWhen parents see
the NAPPA Gold or Honors seal on winning products, they're assured of a high
quality, fun and educational experience for their children.''
The Young Naturalist's Backpack Kit was released in April 2006 by Home Science
Tools. Six other nature and earth science backpack kits are also available at
www.homesciencetools.com, covering
topics such as astronomy, rocks, botany and insects. €œThese backpack kits are
more than €˜edu-tainment,''' says Frank Schaner, the company's founder and
president. €œWith them, kids get quality tools they can use to discover and
investigate on their own, developing an enjoyment of nature as well as real
science skills.''
The Gold Award-winning pack is priced at $89.95 through the 2007 holiday season.
