This kit contains a few dried bioluminescent marine ostracod specimens, commonly called "sea fireflies." The species, Cypridina hilgendorfii, is from the Sea of Japan. These specimens will luminesce when mixed with water and crushed. Instructions for two experiments, a microscope slide, pipet, and stirring rod are included.
