Use them as party favors

We had a science birthday party for our 7 year old, and each guest took home a plastic petri dish filled with Flubber that they made at the party. Since the petri tops fit loosely, we used rubber bands to keep them closed. The kids were also interested to learn what petri dishes are usually used for, and we encouraged them to go home and grow something in them. :-)
