Great Inexpensive Microscope

My 7 year old daughter loves her inexpensive pocket microscope. She has been exploring bacteria, blood cells, plant cells, etc. with this portable microscope. Recommend this for anyone interested in the perfect microscope for children to work/play with.

Just received 2 of these in the mail (super fast shipping to Canada!) a week ago, and we've already had so much fun with them! They're so portable, and are perfect for the Homeschooling parent who finds learning opportunities EVERYWHERE. A definite "must-have" for every household.

Magical Pocket Microscope

Wow... our grandkids (ages 6&8) really got in to this microscope... small inexperienced fingers really were captured at the dining room table exploring the fascination of the Kids Microscope Slide Set. It really works! The prepared slides work best by removing the slide holding mechanism at the base and simply placing the upper unit on to the prepared slide. We looked at regular table salt at all levels of magnification... at full magnification they were so astounded that one salt granule fills the entire eyepiece view and shockingly looks like a perfect die cube. The unit is so inexpensive that we bought one for each child... can't wait for the next snowfall so we can look at snowflakes on a piece of metal left on the back stairs... batteries were included and last a long time.

-  Saturday, April 25, 2009 Nice Pocket Microscope   My six year old daughter has really enjoyed this microscope. As soon as it arrived, we took it out of the box and she began exploring the world around her. We were able to look at everything from child prepared slides to leaves and rocks outside. She even explored with hair pigment, to wood grain on the table, and fibers in material. I anticipate her using this quite a bit. It is quite impressive for a little microscope and is great for starting out. Reviewed By: Holly B.  I saw this same item at a homeschool convention for way more than sold here, so I am glad that I had already run out of money:) When I ordered this a few weeks ago my kids weren't impressed but once it arrived it has been used to look at the prepared Botany slides I bought, a fly's wing, moss, an aphid, salt and so much more. Reviewed By: Denise Parr  I bought this microscope for my 6 yr. old nephews, but my 13 yr. old evaluated the product. He liked the way the base slides off so you can examine mold on bread, outdoor bugs, and crystals. We also purchased the Kids Microscope slide set and were able to view the slides with all 3 magnifications. This is a great portable tool for a parent with curious children. My nephews will need adult supervision and help focusing the microscope, but this is a great alternative to buying an expensive model until they get older and more careful.
