Pocket Microscope, 100XAn inexpensive, easy-to-use pocket microscope that can be carried along anywhere! The 100X magnification provides amazing detail of insects, plants, and other objects, with zoom magnification from 60-100x. You can even see plant cells and observe the movement of large protists in pond water. This is a good alternative to buying an expensive microscope in the early grades. The removable base can hold the microscope for viewing slides, or you can look at objects like fabric, a newspaper page, salt crystals, and more. Requires two AA batteries, not included, for built-in light.Overall Rating: ![]() Write an online review and share your thoughts with other customers Sort Reviews: Newest | Oldest | Highest Rating | Lowest Rating - Wednesday, December 26, 2012Great Inexpensive Microscope Reviewed By: Freddie My 7 year old daughter loves her inexpensive pocket microscope. It really works! The prepared slides work best by removing the slide holding mechanism at the base and simply placing the upper unit on to the prepared slide. We looked at regular table salt at all levels of magnification... at full magnification they were so astounded that one salt granule fills the entire eyepiece view and shockingly looks like a perfect die cube. The unit is so inexpensive that we bought one for each child... can't wait for the next snowfall so we can look at snowflakes on a piece of metal left on the back stairs... batteries were included and last a long time.
