This economy kit has everything needed for dissecting a frog, earthworm, and grasshopper, making it a great way to introduce kids to dissection. Includes our 15 piece dissection tool set; preserved frog, earthworm, and grasshopper specimens; dissection guides for each specimen; and three styrofoam dissection trays. The frog is single injected with red latex, and the grasshopper and worm are plain without injection. Grades 3-9.
Note: You can order this kit now even if you won't be doing dissections until later in the school year.
Specimens are initially preserved with a formaldehyde solution, the best animal tissue fixative. The formaldehyde is then displaced first with water and finally with a glycol solution to produce a moist, low-fume specimen which can be stored almost indefinitely. We recommend that you use specimens within one year of purchase to ensure the best tissue quality. Specimen discoloration over time is normal and does not indicate decay.
Store your specimens at normal room temperature--refrigeration is not required. Storage in attics or garages at high temperatures will damage the specimens. Once opened, specimens can be resealed for later use in a Zip-lock bag to prevent them from drying out.
I ordered this kit for my 3 daughters, 8, 11 and 15. They had a great time. The specimens were good sizes and all of the organs were easy to find . We even looked at all of the organs under a microscope which was also purchased through home training tools. This kit was a great value and good quality.
What a Great kit!

This kit is a fantastic way to introduce dissection to my 8 year old son. The tools included are really "cool", the animals in great condition and the guide extremely clear and simple to follow. What a hit for my son with whom I had run out of science experiments this summer..

My 5 and 8 year olds had a great time with their uncle today. The frog was in excellent shape and the organs were very visible. All three specimens were much larger than I expected. I didn't stick around to watch, but all involved gave it 2 thumbs up.

Well worth the money. Worms were much larger than I thought they would be. Organs were in excellent shape. Everything is very reasonable priced on this website. You cannot find this type of selection anywhere else!

The items with this kit are great. The disseciton kit is better quality than anything I had as a Pre-med student and at a fraction of the cost. If you are new to this, this kit has everything you could need (minus the gloves) to get started. The guides are very well detailed and to be honest, easier to read and follow than anything I had in college. If you have been doing this for a while, the dissection kit is an incredible value. The quality of the tools, as I stated earlier, is better than anything I had in college. Plus, it comes with some items that you usually have to purchase alone. I have family who are teachers that have stated that the prices this company has are better than any discount they get as teachers...and better quality.
