This complete kit includes a full-size almost ready-to-fly model rocket, launch pad, launch controller unit, rocket engines, igniters, wadding, and all other items needed for two flights. We include free copies of the Estes Science and Model Rockets curriculum and Newton's Laws of Motion and Model Rocketry guide. You provide 4 AA batteries and parental supervision. The Alpha III rocket is amazing! It's very easy to assemble and very easy to launch. It goes as high as it said it would too! Just be careful when you assemble the parachute, ours didn't work and the rocket ended up in a tree!!! Also, be sure to be in a open field. What a fun and great product!!

It took a little time to set the model up. We also waited till we could go to a huge pasture due to how high the rocket would climb. We wanted to be able to find the rocket and do it again. We were able to capture it on film both still and motion. It was a lot of fun and we were amazed on how high it really did climb. At least 1000 feet or so it appeared. Once the parachute deployed it did travel considerably away from us so do not set it off near any trees. We recommend this project to everyone but do find the right space and time. It was not loud or dangerous to operate. You also must push hard on the ignition button so no chance of accidentally setting it off.
