For simple setups on a good surface it will be perfect!
You may need the more expensive stands for complex organic chemistry setups. The base is a little small and will tilt a little when used in a complex setup with multiple stands.

This ring stand is very well made and tall enough for lots of equipment. I especially like the rubber feet which keep it in place and eliminate scratching of the tabletop. The only suggestion I have is to add a lock washer to the bottom nut so that the rod can't unscrew inadvertantly while using attached equipment.
