The complete ripple tank unit includes a 27cm x 27cm water tank with Plexiglas bottom, enclosed ripple unit with variable speed control, and a variety of accessories including a single pin generator, double pin generator, plane wave bar, and four different reflection and interference bars. The instructions explain wave theory and include six experiments. You provide a 6-volt battery and connecting wire to power the ripple unit. Ages 12 & up.

ripple tank

Added to our study of light and sound with a very solid understanding of how waves travel. The wave bar could have been set a little lower so that the water level didn't have to be so high but other than that it worked very well.
