This new Sky-Watcher 130mm reflector telescope delivers great light-gathering capacity and high-quality optics all for one low price! It includes two Plossl premium eyepieces which makes it one of the best telescope deals we have offered in years.

Save $125 on this Skywatcher telescope for limited time!

This 130mm (5.1”) f/6.9 telescope has a light grasp of 20.4 square inches, which is 32% more light than a 114mm (4.5in) reflector telescope. More light means you'll see more stars and galaxies and greater detail of the moon and planets. The 130mm primary mirror is fabricated to exacting standards and multi-coated for maximum light reflection. Although planetary objects are pleasing to view with this telescope, its real strength is in capturing fainter distant objects. You will be able to resolve individual star points in globular clusters while the central glow of galaxies will be brighter and emission nebulae will appear more luminous and voluminous.

This telescope has a stable EQ2 equatorial mount to easily move from star to star and to track night-sky objects with just one control as the earth rotates. While the equatorial mount is not as kid-friendly as the altazimuth or Dobsonian mounts, it provides superior functionality.

The high-quality super Plossl 25mm and 12mm 1.25” eyepieces provide magnification of 36x and 75x, respectively. Other quality features include a 2x Barlow lens to double magnification of each eyepiece, a red-dot finderscope for easy object locating, and Planetarium software for your PC. For help finding the telescope that's right for you, see our Selecting a Telescope guide.

Note: Standard Shipping and shipping specials are not available for this bulky item. This item only ships to a street address in the 50 US states with UPS Ground shipping.

Telescope Magnification:
Don't make the mistake of buying a telescope for the high magnification advertised. Many low-priced telescopes boast magnification of over 300x, which is totally unusable for three reasons.

  • First, the theoretical magnification for any telescope is limited by aperture (primary lens or mirror) diameter. The maximum theoretical magnification is 120x for a 60mm telescope and 228x for a 114mm telescope.
  • Second, atmospheric conditions limit magnification to 200-250x on the very best of nights even with very large telescopes.
  • Third, the low quality optics on most inexpensive telescopes do not produce a clear, sharp image even at lower magnifications.

Most night sky observing is done in the range of 25x-150x. The Sky-Watcher telescopes we offer have excellent optics at these magnification levels, ensuring you will enjoy your night sky viewing.
