This sand never gets wet! Space sand mimics the hydrophobic (water-fearing) properties of sand on Mars. It clumps together under water so you can sculpt it, but it's completely dry the instant it leaves the water! Since it repels water, it is a great tool for studying water surface tension. This special pack contains 2 ounces each of red, yellow, and blue space sand along with experiment ideas.
Ages 5 & up.

Fun and EducationalReviewed By: M. Mattson My nephews and nieces were amazed when I gave them some space sand. We all loved watching it come out of the water completely dry. They were especially intrigued by the way water forms little balls on the surface of the sand, which led into a great discussion of surface tension and polar vs. nonpolar molecules.

Space Sand is FUN! Wow! This stuff is amazing. My kids enjoyed doing the various experiments listed in the enclosed instructions. It sparked all sorts of conversation and learning opportunities! Thanks for making learning fun!
