However, I've still not figured out how to turn off the alarm on these stopwatches. - Tuesday, March 10, 2009great stopwatch, difficult clock I ordered this stopwatch to be used as a component in a DIY sports event timer. Ultimately, this stopwatch will be worn by a competitor and started and stopped by a seperate remote control wireless link similar to a garage door remote. All I hoped for was that this stopwatch have a rear cover plate that could be unscrewed to allow access to the internal electronics for connecting two wires. This stopwatch satisfied this need. The stopwatch comes with other features like the ability to set the current time, date and day of the week. There is also an alarm clock functiom which allows a chime to go off at a programmed time on different days of the week. The instructions are poorly translated chinese and I was not able to figure out how to turn off and on the alarm function. Thus while in stopwatch mode, I have a few other icons on the display flashing away uselessly. The plastic case is in poly-styrene and feels cheap and the push-buttons occasionally bounce creating a double event. But it does time to the hundred of a second and will serve well as my initial prototype. If my design works, I will probably purchase a better quality stopwatch intended for serious sports use costing 5 to 8 times as much. For six dollars, this is excellent value. Expected a red color case, got black instead. |
