Embark on a biological adventure with this deluxe "triassic" Triops kit! The eggs of these small creatures remain dormant for years, but when placed in water they hatch within 24 hours and grow to adulthood in just nine days. They grow up to 2" long, so they're easy to observe.

This kit contains 30-40 eggs (enough for two hatchings of Triassic Triops) along with a sturdy plastic tank, gravel, food, nutrient mix, magnifying glass, thermometer, glow beads to experiment with nighttime habits, and a fossil replica. It also comes with an instruction booklet with activity pages for each day of Triops development to encourage careful observation. Guaranteed to hatch.

Much better than sea monkeys!

Triops take the cake! We received this kit as a gift and I was pleasantly surprised with the size and life span of the larger-than-sea monkeys Triops. We had quite a few that hatched but the number dwindled to only 4 survivors after a while. It was interesting to watch them eat and interact. An inexpensive experiment in pet ownership.
