UberSailboat Kit
Use the materials in this kit plus two plastic water bottles to make a sailboat that really floats! Nearly 200 Überstix components are in the box, along with a sail and mini flag. The kit includes a small booklet explaining simple machines like levers, pulleys, and wheels and axles. It also includes a lab sheet for testing a hypothesis and writing down the results of experiments with the sailboat. All the sturdy plastic building pieces in this kit are designed to work with Lego, K'Nex, Zome, or other building kits you might have at home. Überstix can also be used with other recycled items like straws, cups, and popsicle sticks. Ages 10 & up.Want to use this kit for a science fair project? Science Fair Project Ideas:
- What happens if you use bigger or smaller water bottles? Will the boat still float on water?
- Using other building pieces, and recycled materials, try making the boat bigger. You can try making a larger sail using a plastic grocery bag. What design seems to work the best?
