We love the smooth action of the focus knobs and the movement of the mechanical stage. Optics are crisp. This is a great tool. We enjoy using it as much as our children. The Ultimate Home Microscope is worth the investment. It is a well build scientific instrument with excellent optics and it gives a clear image at the maximum magnification. Also, having the mechanical stage, adjustable light intensity and 1000x magnification is a must for our family to enjoy an in-depth study of biology. While there are less expensive microscopes available, I chose this microscope to allow for a wide range of studies from elementary through the high school level, and beyond! This one is a keeper!
It is rare for us to find a homeschool item, curricula or tool that we keep for all five of our children. This microscope is one of those rarities. Those of you – like us – who have tried to ‘get by’ with the cheap versions will understand the frustration we went through before we purchased this microscope. The quality, versatility and functionality make this one a five-star keeper!
The coaxial focusing and stage are easy to manipulate. Also, the halogen light provides a bright concentrated white light.
This ultimate home microscope can be used for elementary level sciences, middle school sciences – as well as the high school sciences.
My teens are currently using this microscope for Apologia Biology. The students favor and end up crowded around this microscope because of the clarity and quality.
I am sure that we will get many more years usage and enjoyment from this quality microscope!
