(Wacky Waves Kit
Did you know you can build your own seismograph (to record tremors in the earth) using a slinky and a suction cup? With this kit you will do that and much more. Learn about transverse, standing, and longitudinal waves, simulate an earthquake, make a slinky scale and a slinky sonar system, and experiment with pendulums. Each experiment in the 23-page instruction booklet includes a "what does it mean" section that explains the scientific principles being demonstrated. The kit contains two slinkys, a suction cup, plastic cups, a sponge, string, and a toothpick. You provide some household items. Ages 8-11.
