Washington Student Rock Pack, 40 Samples
This collection of rocks is a student identification pack designed to compliment the Washington School Collection, although it's also a great pack to test your rock identification skills with. It contains unlabeled 1" or less chips of the same 40 specimens as the School collection so students can study, test, and identify them.
Specimens include examples of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks, rock forming minerals, ore forming minerals, and industrial minerals. Packed in a plastic bag. Order one per student or student team. This pack can also be used for independent study. Although no key is provided, the rocks and minerals included are listed below. You can identify them using a rock guidebook.
WARNING:

Better than a pre-labelled Rock CollectionReviewed By: Dottie This is a great set. My son wanted the 40 specimen rock collection, already labelled for Christmas, but what fun is that? So I purchased this, a guidebook, and a mineral testing kit.It isn't as easy as I thought, but we are working through the rocks, 3 a day. My son is enjoying it, he gets a little frustrated when he can't figure out what rock is what. (he is 10)
I also came back here to see if there was a list of the rocks in the collection..there is. Be sure to copy that off and use it, mom or dad. :) I also see there is a sale on the rock pack right now...it is a GREAT price for a great kit!
